SUMMARY:Müller Chamber Choir(木樓合唱團) performs Agnus Dei
DESCRIPTION:The Müller Chamber Choir(木樓合唱團) will perform Agnus Dei from Ashes of Roses at their June concert. As Jocelyn says\, “My requiem really centers around the idea of transformation. But more than that\, it’s about transforming into lightness\, into beauty. So many requiems focus on darkness and end somberly\, but Ashes of Roses does not. It ends with a brightness\, centering on the fact that we all someday transition into something beyond ourselves\, and that should be celebrated.” \nLearn more about Müller Chamber Choir(木樓合唱團) here.

SUMMARY:Greeley Chorale performs Ashes of Roses
DESCRIPTION:Jocelyn Hagen’s Ashes of Roses initiates this concert\, a new setting of the Requiem (the Mass for the Dead). The work\, for soloists\, chorus and orchestra\, gets its name from Elaine Goodale Eastman’s poem “Ashes of Roses\,” which is incorporated into the traditional Latin text of the Requiem. The Greeley Chorale pairs this with Sunrise Mass by Ola Gjeilo\, a Norwegian composer currently working in the United States.

SUMMARY:World Premiere: The Widening Sky
DESCRIPTION:The Widening Sky\, set to an inspiring text by Charles Anthony Silvestri and commissioned by the Apple Valley High School Performing Arts Department in celebration of the school’s 50th year\, is a radiant work for choir and band that traces a journey from solitude to belonging. Beginning in quiet reflection and growing into soaring\, expansive textures\, the music mirrors the poem’s transformation of “horizons of gray into golden light.” At its heart\, the piece captures the courage it takes to “face the widening sky\,” making it an ideal choice for spring concerts and graduation as seniors prepare to step into new chapters of their lives. Ultimately\, it celebrates the enduring strength of community and the joy of singing together\, reminding us that our voices are always stronger when united.

SUMMARY:VOCES8 Foundation Choir & Orchestra perform ROSE EVER BLOOMING via Live From London
DESCRIPTION:Join VOCES8 and friends as they celebrate the season with a selection-box of beautifully sung carols and songs from across Europe and the USA. Learn more about all streamed programming available at Live From London. \nRose Ever Blooming is a new Christmas oratorio by composers Jocelyn Hagen and Timothy C. Takach that honours the role of Mary in the story of Jesus\, celebrating the strength of family and the enduring bond between mother and son. Inspired by the poetry of Patricia Monaghan\, the work interweaves twelve of her poems with traditional carols\, illuminating Mary’s humanity and portraying her as a reluctant hero reflecting on her life from the Annunciation to her own Beatitudes. Conducted by Barnaby Smith and performed by the VOCES8 Foundation Choir & Orchestra\, this beautifully crafted work explores the divine and the everyday through a profoundly human lens. The performance was filmed at the recording sessions at St Jude-on-the-Hill\, Hampstead Garden Suburb\, capturing the warmth and spiritual intimacy of this remarkable new addition to the Christmas repertoire.
