Description
Published by Graphite Publishing.
This expansive setting of Psalm 121—“I lift up my eyes to the hills”—draws deeply from the composer’s years immersed in the choral tradition at St. Olaf College, where sacred text, expressive harmony, and the communal act of singing are held in profound reverence.
Performed by CORO Vocal Artists.
Text
I lift up my eyes to the hills
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved
He who keeps you will not slumber;
He who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper
He is the shade upon your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil
He will watch over your life:
The Lord will guard your coming and going
both now and for evermore. Amen.
